(CONT'D.)

[Levi wakes up in the dark]

Gasping for air and grasping for support, he reaches for What's Her Face only to be met with the sensation of cold, untouched linen; he quickly remembers, she's been gone for months now. Laying on his chest facing towards Her with his arm still stretched, Levi slowly comes into focus.

He flicks a single of his preferred brand out of its soft pack and lights it with the butt currently burning a hole in the sheets between his legs.

Pulling the half-smoked cigarette from his lips, Levi carelessly drops it in the brown afterwash and gets up; noticing his notebook at the foot of the bed, he leans forward to read a note placed on top of it in Her writing:

"This is why we will never work, This. Your head is only here, always, and never with me. I'd say goodbye, but would you even notice if I was gone?"

Levi opens his tour journal and flips through the pages without intent. It's not the words that bring him back, it's the smell. As he mindlessly flips through the memories at random, a folded sheet of paper falls from between the pages and onto the floor at his feet. Levi stops and stares for a moment as he faintly remembers. Tossing the journal aside and never breaking eye contact with the floor, he leans down, unfolds the sheet in wonder and reads his own handwriting.

"FOR WHAT'S HER FACE, VOL.1"
Sorry I've Been Away,
But I'm Back Now, Maybe

He remembers, but not right away.
